JOSEPH KABALE

KAMPALA - It's alleged that on March 8th,2024, the Busiiro East legislator parked his vehicle at a washing bay identified as Saga washing bay in Kakeeka zone, Rubaga division to have it washed, but the suspects took advantage of a confidential call he had received to steal the money amounting to 118m Uganda shillings cash which was concealed in the car trunk leaving the vehicle unwashed.

It has been established that the MP first applied peaceful attempts to recover his money but in vain, something that prompted him to report to police on March 15th which plunged into investigations causing to the arrest of Annet Nantongo, John Kibaale an electrician, Emanuel Migadde and the prime suspect Jovan Asiimwe the car washer.

While speaking to journalists earlier today, the deputy Police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan area Luke Owesigyire, declared the recovery of 85m of the lost 118m, and has about four suspects linked to the theft in custody.

" We want to thank our team, especially the police in Rubaga and old Kampala, for their efforts in the arrest and recovery of 75 million shillings belonging to Hon. Lubega Medard Sseggona," Said Owesigyire.

Owesigyire adds that the arrested suspects led the old Kampala Police detectives to kyinawa where 35m was recovered and later 50m in Kalagala, Mpigi.
