Museveni Appoints his Son Chief of Defense Forces(CDF)

Thursday March 21st evening, the president of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who doubles as the Chief in Command of the defense forces had published new cabinet reshuffles which indicated that General Wilson Mbasu Mbadi, the Uganda People's Defense Forces Chief commander had been appointed a State Minister of Trade and Cooperatives.

A few hours later in the middle of the night, the Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs issued a statement announcing senior UPDF officers' appointments and promotions.

The letter stated that Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who has been serving as a Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations had been elevated to the position of Commander Defense Forces (CDF).

The reports were confirmed by the UPDF Deputy spokesperson Col.Deo Akiiki.

" It's true now that the minister of Defense and Veteran Affairs is Hon. Markson Oboth Oboth, and Chief of Defense forces is Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba...." Akiiki confirmed on a phone call interview.

In the same vein, Lt Gen Peter Elwelu was appointed Senior Presidential Advisor, Lt. Gen. Samuel Okiding, currently serving as a force Commander in Mogadishu appointed Deputy Chief Defense Force, Maj. Gen. Eric Kyanda appointed a defense attaché to a country not mentioned yet, Maj. Gen.Jackson Bakasumba appointed joint chief of staff, Brig. Gen. David Mugisha promoted to Maj.General and Colonel Asaph Nyakyikuru to Brig.Gen. respectively.

Uganda Prisons register over 5000 cases of the contagious Red eyes infection

Photo - JK By our reporter While addressing the media at Naguru Police headquarters in Kampala today, the Spokesperson Frank Baine noted that approximately 5905 cases have so far been registered, of which 4704 have fully recovered, 1201 are still active and under treatment. Baine added that there are currently no critical cases and have never registered any deaths. The outbreak of the Conjunctivitis {Red Eyes disease} was confirmed by the Kampala Capital City Authority {KCCA} and the ministry of health early last month. Earlier today, Baine implored members of the public who wish to visit the inmates to first ascertain that they are not infected to avoid spreading the infection.  He also highlighted on the prisons facilities that have been so far affected by the infection as follows.
